What to pack for your day

A simple guide to help you feel prepared without overthinking it. You can reference this page as-is, or copy the checklist into your favorite notes or checklist app.

You do not need to pack everything perfectly. The goal is just to feel prepared enough that you are not thinking about logistics all day.

The essentials

The things you really do not want to leave behind.

  • Marriage license
  • Rings
  • Vow books or printed vows
  • Outfits
  • Undergarments
  • Shoes
  • Any meaningful details or heirlooms

Clothing + comfort

Think about the environment, not just how it looks.

  • Layers or jacket
  • Comfortable walking or hiking shoes
  • Extra socks
  • Weather gear if needed
  • Change of clothes if you want one

Hair + touch-ups

Only the basics. No need to bring your whole bathroom.

  • Lip balm or lipstick
  • Powder or blotting papers
  • Hair ties or pins
  • Brush or comb
  • Small mirror

Adventure items

Especially helpful for mountain, desert, or more remote days.

  • Backpack or bag
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Blanket
  • Headlamp or flashlight
  • Sunscreen or bug spray
  • Hand wipes or sanitizer

For the experience

The little things that make the day feel even more like yours.

  • A drink to celebrate
  • Picnic items or meal plans
  • Letters to each other
  • Speaker for music
  • Anything meaningful to you two

If your dog is joining

Because they are part of the story too.

  • Leash and collar or harness
  • Water and bowl
  • Treats
  • Waste bags
  • Towel
  • A person to help with them if possible

Optional

Helpful extras if they matter to you.

  • Perfume or cologne
  • Ring box
  • Portable charger
  • ID and extra cash
  • Mini emergency kit with safety pins or bandages
